The 2018 Steamboat Springs Running Series continues its dedication to the pursuit of running and bringing people together. This year's series includes miles of challenging runs from 400 yards to 100 miles, all on the spectacular Colorado terrain you've come to expect. Our races are for everyone, so come out for a great day whether you are a racer or a walker. It's an achievement to complete any of the courses, and many races will have prize drawings.

The Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series is the most successful weekly rodeo in the country. While the roots of rodeo in this modest little Northwestern Colorado ranch town/world class ski resort trace back over 100 years, the humble beginnings of the weekly rodeo were in the mid 1970's as the "Friday Night Jackpot." All performances are held at Romick Arena located in the Howelsen Hill Park Complex owned by the City of Steamboat Springs.

The Strings Music Pavilion is Steamboat’s premier live music venue. The award-winning Music Pavilion seats 569 people and showcases over 60 performances during the summer months from June through August as well as a Fall & Winter series and year-round education concerts. The festival features orchestra, chamber, soloists, world, blues, jazz and rock music along with a Youth and Family series, and free concerts at the Yampa River Botanic Park. This year represents the Festival’s 30th year of music.

The Steamboat Springs Free Summer Concert Series began in 1990/91 as a small concert series with several hundred in attendance and presented on the lawn of the Routt County Court House, the community gathering space in the heart of downtown Steamboat Springs. Started by a small record shop owner and friends, the Series now features 5 concerts per year with attendance averaging 3,500 to 5,000 per concert. And boasts nationally recognized artists in the area of pop-rock, reggae, bluegrass, blues, and funk. The series is a gathering for all ages and has become truly one of the signature family events in the valley.

The race is held on the beautiful Spring Creek trail with wildflowers and Aspen trees next to bubbling Spring Creek. The 9.5 mile race is run on an up and down scenic loop on primitive trail, two track, single track and briefly on forest service road. The challenging 9.5 mile course gains ~2,500 ft. in the first 4 miles with most of that being from mile 2-4. This section of the race takes the runner up unimproved rocky and narrow single track and over several large downed trees before it descends on a smooth rolling downhill trail. The 5K race is an out and back on the beautiful Spring Creek trail on rolling two track and single track. Come out for a great day of running, a prize drawing and an even better post-race meal made by Freshies.

The Steamboat Stinger, now a Colorado classic, aims to provide a challenging backcountry race experience showcasing some of Steamboat Springs’ finest singletrack. The Steamboat Stinger is also a fundraiser for Partners in Routt County (local youth mentoring group) and Routt County Riders (local IMBA chapter).

The Steamboat Triathlon features a sprint distance, olympic distance, and aquabike. The swim starts off in the picturesque Lake Catamount. Triathletes will then quickly transition to the bike course with amazing views of the Yampa Valley and River! The olympic distance course will take athletes out to the historic Howelsen, while the sprint distance will feature a brand new single loop course.

Three days of road bike racing will again draw racers from across the Rocky Mountain region to Steamboat Springs over Labor Day weekend. The event offers a variety of age- and ability- based categories with three race stages that include a time trial, road race, and criterium. A portion of proceeds from the event go to Routt County Humane Society, Bicycle Colorado, and Lift Up Food Bank.

Event benefits the Mark McManus Foundation and is directed by The Foundry Treatment Center. There will be homemade after race Halloween treats to enjoy as well as fun for the whole family...bobbing for apples, face painting and games.
